Sir Steve Jobs

Today my boyfriend and I went into center city Philadelphia. I had to take a ring back to the Lagos store for repair. Their customer service is superb! They were super nice in the store, and recognized that the ring breaking wasn't due to neglect so the repair was free! It will take about 2 weeks, so now I just need to be patient. While we were there, we took a stroll down Walnut Street, which in my opinion has some of the best shopping in Philly on one street! We passed the Apple store, where tons of people had left post it notes in memory of Steve Jobs. It was kind of endearing, and made me realize people really loved him and his way of thought. I Instagram'd the scene.

SWAG

This is just a quick update, since my day came and went way quicker than I would have liked.

My roomate gave me a new straightener the other day. I love free SWAG! Impatiently I went straight to my bathroom to plug it in and try it out. I quickly realized that my electrical outlet int he bathroom was broken! Sadly that means that since I moved in over 4 months ago I haven't done my hair! That seems crazy. But I typically just thow my hair back in a bun, wear it wavy, or braid it - none of which require use of a blow dryer, straightner, or curling iron. Well here is how my hair looks straight, it is a rarity so take it in now. You never know how long it will be until i do it again!
Note to self: clean your room!

This is my new straightener

Puppy Love

Source: funny pictures of dogs and puppies

Every couple months I get the itch for a puppy. Last weekend I watched my brother's dog so the obssession with a puppy quickly came back.  I spent my weekend trying to find a puppy. I went to every pet store within 10 miles, only to find apparently they don't have puppies there! So I took my serch online to the animal shelters, and found about 100 dogs I wanted.  I quickly came back to reality, and realized that I don't already have a dog fo 3 major reasons, but I am sure I could expand this list easily.

1. I am not responsible enough. I barely remember to feed myself (and when I do it's not a proper meal - it's ice cream!) I like to be able to come and go whenever I want, and often go away for weekends.

2. My roomate HATES dogs. I don't mean just simply dislikes them, she can't even fatham why people get dogs. She is a cat person to say the least.

3. My apartment doesn't allow dogs.

Oh well...I will just have to continue waathcing dogs for the weekend, or get a cat.

My borthers dog. I taught him french this weekend too ;)

Missed Missoni

After quite a hectic day of wheeling and dealing at work, I headed over to Target to pick up a few peices from their new Missoni collection. I was highly dissappointed o only find the childrens apparel available at my local Target. I had planned on blogging about my new purchases, so instead I'll let you know what I would have bought! I guess I will have to stop by there again tomorrow to pick these things up...

To die FOUR

Okay so it's not that serious, I am not going to die for any of these. But I do live for them!

1. Alex and Ani bracelets

I love these bracelets. I mix and match gold and silver, and pile them on along with a bunch of other bracelets. My wrists may jingle while I type, but they look good while doing it!

2. Rebecca Minkoff

I am becoming obsessed with RM.  It started with the crossbody clutch above, and I just scored this wallet for $50 bucks at Nordstrom Rack! It was such a bargain I couldn't pass it up, although I am supposed to be on a strict budget right now.

3. Snickers Ice Cream bars!
YUM! I could eat an entire box myself.

4. Eyeglasses

I love eyeglasses - yet I wear my contacts daily. I just don't look great in glasses, but somehow convince myself to spend unnecessary money on them. So this year, I took advantage of a Flexible Spending Account at work for any medical expenses. I added an extra $400.00 in there this year to splurge on glasses guilt-free.  Now I just need to decide which ones, I narrowed it down to these three I think.

One Chic Geek

This blog was created to be an outlet for my fashion-obsessed mind. I recently left the fashion industry to work in electronics. It sounds boring, but its really not bad - I buy the product. Really the two industries aren't all that different - I am finding electronics to be as hectic as a live runway show 24/7. While I become more familiar with gigahertz and megabytes, I wanted to be sure I stayed in touch with the fashion industry that i used to live and breathe through work.
